We’re closing the gap between people and the legal help they can afford.
JusticeXpress, Inc. is a Delaware public benefit corporation — An Access to Justice Company — building the places where everyday people find lawyers who offer exactly the help they need at a price they can see up front.
Most people who need a lawyer never hire one.
Not because they don’t want help — because full, hourly representation costs more than they can pay. So they go it alone, or they turn to form sites that leave them with documents but no counsel.
JusticeXpress exists to change that. We build the connective tissue between the public and the lawyers who deliver fixed-fee, limited-scope services — the affordable, à-la-carte help that meets people where they are. Our first consumer directory, JusticeXpressFlorida.com, does exactly that for Florida, and the model is built to grow state by state.
We’re a public benefit corporation because the mission comes first: expanding access to justice is written into who we are.
Every listing on our directory is a lawyer offering a defined service for a fixed fee — no open-ended retainers, no hourly surprises. People see what they’ll get and what it costs before they ever pick up the phone. That’s the promise behind everything we build.

Richard S. Granat
JusticeXpress was founded by Richard S. Granat, a lawyer who has spent more than two decades building the on-ramps between people and affordable legal help — and who earned the profession’s highest honors for doing it.
In 1999 he founded the People’s Law Library of Maryland (peoples-law.org), one of the first statewide legal-information websites, today operated by the Maryland court system as a public service. In 2001 he launched MyLawyer.com and began a twelve-year tenure as Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s eLawyering Task Force (2001–2013). In 2003 he founded MDFamilyLawyer.com, one of the first law firms in Maryland — and among the first in the nation — to deliver legal services online; he remains a member of the Maryland Bar. In 2009 he founded DirectLaw, Inc., a virtual law firm platform that helped solo and small firms deliver online legal services under their own brand, which he sold in 2015.
Along the way he was named an ABA Legal Rebel, received the American Bar Association’s Louis M. Brown Lifetime Achievement Award for innovation in the delivery of legal services, and has served as a member of the ABA Standing Committee on the Delivery of Legal Services. Now, with JusticeXpress, he’s building the next on-ramp — bringing Law That You Can Afford to Florida and beyond.
